Domains
What is a domain? A domain is a preferably short and memorable name (address) of your site. Currently, at the top level these are administered by a public organization, ICANN (The Corporation for distribution of numbers and names on the Internet), which is based in California. It issues IP-address blocks to registrars and regulates top-level domains. Top-level domains (TLDs) may be geographic (fixed for any country) and extraterritorial (worldwide).
